Bio

Don Wilson is a native of South Carolina. He grew up on a family farm in a small town, Lake City. Raised in a Christian household by two loving parents. The family of origin was a huge family consisting of three boys and four girls. Don learned early in life that you can have anything you work to obtain. Hard work, honesty, and dedication are family virtues that have shaped his family.

Don became a professing believer as a teenager. He discerned his call to ministry while in undergraduate school. He has spent many years of service in many settings. The accumulation of his experience resulted in him becoming an ordained Elder in the United Methodist church. The Reverend Don Wilson has a Bachelor of Science degree from the Francis Marion University with collaterals in Psychology and History. He received his Master of Divinity from the United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.

Rev. Wilson gained international experience by serving in Zambia and Zimbabwe as a Mission Intern with the General Board of Global Ministries. He served as a church and community worker for years in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas with the Theressa Hoover Memorial United Methodist Church and the Better Community Developers program. He has pastor congregations in Ft. Smith, AR, Little Rock, AR, Dayton, OH, Columbus, OH, Cincinnati, OH and currently is serving at the Fairview United Methodist Church in Dayton, Ohio.

Rev. Wilson’s great desire is to create authentic faith communities that welcome all people regardless of race, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, mental capacity or physical ability.
